Parliament
Sarah Teather has been the MP for Brent East since the by-election of 2003 when Brent residents rejected Labour with a huge swing to the Liberal Democrats in Ken Livingstone’s own old constituency. Before becoming an MP, Sarah worked for Macmillan Cancer Relief.
Sarah was re-elected at the last general election and is leading the fight against Post Office closures as the Liberal Democrats’ Shadow Secretary of State for Business and Enterprise. She is campaigning to replace the unfair council tax introduced by the Conservatives and made worse under Labour, and is working to clean up Brent after years of Labour neglect.
