London Assembly
Nick Russell is the Liberal Democrats’ candidate for the Barnet & Camden Assembly constituency. Nick has spent most of his career as an Organisation Development consultant and studied Business at London Business School. He is a governor of Haverstock School in Chalk Farm. Nick is campaigning to prevent police station closures, to improve public transport and to reform planning rules to protect our local communities.

Residents in Camden are represented on the London Assembly by five Liberal Democrats who cover the whole of London: Dee Doocey, Sally Hamwee, Geoff Pope, Graham Tope and group leader Mike Tuffrey.
The Liberal Democrats’ London-wide “top-up” list for the 2008 London Assembly election consists of Mike Tuffrey, Dee Doocey, Caroline Pidgeon, Jeremy Ambache, Geoff Pope, Ben Abbotts, Stephen Knight, Shas Sheehan, Duncan Borrowman, Monica Whyte and Merlene Emerson.
Parliament
Liberal Democrats in Hampstead & Kilburn have selected Ed Fordham to fight the next general election. Hampstead & Kilburn is a new seat which academics say is a very close Labour/Liberal Democrat marginal. It includes parts of Brent East which currently have a Lib Dem MP. The Conservatives are a distant third.
Ed is well known to many local residents and groups. He lives in Hampstead and was the Lib Dem candidate for the current Hampstead & Highgate seat at the last general election. He is committed to standing up for local residents.

Jo Shaw is the Liberal Democrats’ parliamentary campaigner for Holborn & St Pancras. Jo works as a barrister, specialising in housing, employment and family law. Jo has spent several Christmases working with homeless people. In 1996 Jo volunteered for Community Service Volunteers (CSV) working with adults with disabilities.
Liberal Democrats ran Labour a close second in Holborn and St Pancras at the 2005 General Election, slashing Labour MP Frank Dobson’s majority to less than 5000 votes.

Local Council
Camden Council has been led by Liberal Democrat councillor Keith Moffitt since 2006 when Labour lost power after 35 years. Keith leads a group of 21 hard-working Liberal Democrat councillors.
Liberal Democrats in Camden are investing more money in local police to cut crime and have pledged an extra £15 million towards improvements to Camden’s council estates.
