London Assembly
Nigel Bakhai is the Liberal Democrats’ candidate in the London Assembly constituency of Ealing & Hillingdon, where he lives and works.
Nigel is the chair of his local residents’ association and a member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport. He lives in Hanwell and works as an Equipment Demand Planner in Uxbridge.

Residents in Hillingdon are represented on the London Assembly by five Liberal Democrats who cover the whole of London: Dee Doocey, Sally Hamwee, Geoff Pope, Graham Tope and group leader Mike Tuffrey.
The Liberal Democrats’ London-wide “top-up” list for the 2008 London Assembly election consists of Mike Tuffrey, Dee Doocey, Caroline Pidgeon, Jeremy Ambache, Geoff Pope, Ben Abbotts, Stephen Knight, Shas Sheehan, Duncan Borrowman, Monica Whyte and Merlene Emerson.
Parliament
Mike Cox, who has been the local councillor for Manor Ward since 2002, is the Liberal Democrats’ parliamentary campaigner for Uxbridge & South Ruislip. He lives in Uxbridge, after 18 years living in Ruislip.
Mike is Vice Chair of governors at Whiteheath Junior School in Ruislip where he has served for 10 years. He is heavily committed to Youth Sport, being involved in London Youth Games, Swimathon and the Panathlon Challenge. Mike has also acted as trustee of a number of charities including Lifeline, a humanitarian organisation providing relief to war-torn Yugoslavia and Homestart Hillingdon. He is currently the treasurer for the Nyumbani Trust, which is a Ruislip based charity raising funds for a Kenyan orphanage for children with HIV.
