Parliament
Edward Davey has been the Member of Parliament for Kingston and Surbiton since winning the seat from the Conservatives in 1997. He was recently appointed the Liberal Democrats’ Shadow Foreign Secretary.
Edward is currently campaigning for Kingston and Surbiton stations to be re-zoned from Zone 6 to Zone 5 to prevent local communters being clobbered with massive rises in annual season ticket costs. Here’s Edward’s Channel 4 programme on the issue:
Edward’s other local campaigns include work to save Subiton Hospital, to scrap the unfair council tax, and for more NHS dentists in the area.
Susan Kramer is the Member of Parliament for Richmond Park. She is the Liberal Democrats’ spokesperson on issues relating to families and Shadow Minister for the Cabinet Office. She was educated locally at St Paul’s Girls’ School and worked in international finance and transport before becoming an MP.

Local Council
The Liberal Democrats have run Kingston Council since taking control from the Conservatives in the 2002 local elections. When the people of Kingston re-elected the Liberal Democrats in 2006, it was the first time in nearly 25 years that a party had won a second term.
Cllr Derek Osbourne is the Leader of the Council, heading a team of 25 Liberal Democrat councillors working hard for residents across Kingston. The Conservatives are the official opposition; Labour have only one councillor in the whole borough.
