London Assembly
Lewisham councillor Brian Robson is the Liberal Democrats’ candidate for the Greenwich & Lewisham constituency.
Brian wants to see more police on local train and bus services and community policing to cut crime. He is working to ensure that stations affected by the East London Line extension don’t lose out on services to central London, and to see the Oyster Card rolled out to suburban rail services. He is campaigning to cut council housing waiting lists and to create genuinely affordable local housing.

Residents in Lewisham are represented on the London Assembly by five Liberal Democrats who cover the whole of London: Dee Doocey, Sally Hamwee, Geoff Pope, Graham Tope and group leader Mike Tuffrey.
The Liberal Democrats’ London-wide “top-up” list for the 2008 London Assembly election consists of Mike Tuffrey, Dee Doocey, Caroline Pidgeon, Jeremy Ambache, Geoff Pope, Ben Abbotts, Stephen Knight, Shas Sheehan, Duncan Borrowman, Monica Whyte and Merlene Emerson.

Lewisham councillor Alex Feakes is the Liberal Democrats’ parliamentary spokesman for Lewisham West & Penge, which covers wards in Lewisham and Bromley. Figures for this new parliamentary seat show that the Liberal Democrats are the challengers to Labour, with the Conservatives well behind in third.

Local Council
Cllr Mark Morris is Leader of the Opposition on Lewisham Council. Although no party has a majority of councillors, the directly-elected executive mayor is from the Labour Party and therefore Labour run the council.
Mark leads a group of 17 Liberal Democrat councillors. The Liberal Democrats are the main opposition to Labour in Lewisham; the Conservatives have just three councillors.
