Cllr Farrukh IslamLondon Assembly

The Liberal Democrats’ candidate for the Havering & Redbridge constituency is Redbridge councillor Farrukh Islam, who represents Roding Ward on the local council.

Redbridge residents are represented on the London Assembly by five Liberal Democrats who cover the whole of London: Dee Doocey, Sally Hamwee, Geoff Pope, Graham Tope and group leader Mike Tuffrey.

The Liberal Democrats’ London-wide “top-up” list for the 2008 London Assembly election consists of Mike Tuffrey, Dee Doocey, Caroline Pidgeon, Jeremy Ambache, Geoff Pope, Ben Abbotts, Stephen Knight, Shas Sheehan, Duncan Borrowman, Monica Whyte and Merlene Emerson.

Cllr Farooq Qureshi is the Liberal Democrats’ parliamentary campaigner for the Leyton & Wanstead constituency, which includes Wanstead and South Woodford.

Cllr Hugh CleaverLocal Council

Liberal Democrats on Redbridge Council are led by Cllr Hugh Cleaver. They are working with local people for a safer, cleaner and greener borough.

Recent campaigns include tackling noise, graffiti and dangerous rubbish in Churchfields Park and a successful campaign to save Whipps Cross Hospital. Local Liberal Democrat councillors also won a climbdown by the Conservatives over the Tory plans to sell off local allotments and car parks.
