Cllr Shas Sheehan is the Liberal Democrats’ London Assembly candidate for Merton & Wandsworth. She was educated at Franciscan School and Graveney school, after her parents moved to London from Pakistan, and currently lives in Putney.

Shas has pledged to fight for local people in the London Assembly and to be visible and accountable to her constituents.

Wandsworth residents are represented on the London Assembly by five Liberal Democrats who cover the whole of London: Dee Doocey, Sally Hamwee, Geoff Pope, Graham Tope and group leader Mike Tuffrey.

The Liberal Democrats’ London-wide “top-up” list for the 2008 London Assembly election consists of Mike Tuffrey, Dee Doocey, Caroline Pidgeon, Wandsworth activist Jeremy Ambache, Geoff Pope, Ben Abbotts, Stephen Knight, Shas Sheehan, Duncan Borrowman, Monica Whyte and Merlene Emerson.

Sarah LudfordEuropean Parliament

Sarah Ludford is the Liberal Democrat Member of the European Parliament for the whole of London. She has been in the forefront of efforts to tackle organised crime and terrorism through European cross-border law enforcement.

Sarah has been the party’s lead member in the European Parliament on anti-racism, on rights for EU-resident legal immigrants, and on internment of prisoners in Guantanamo Bay. She is active in the Parliament’s ‘intergroups’ on anti-racism & diversity and gay & lesbian rights.

Local Council

Liberal Democrats in Wandsworth have been working hard for local residents across the borough.

They have been campaigning for much-needed improvements to Tooting Library, more bus capacity at rush hours to relieve overcrowding, and for more visible street patrols in town centres and housing estates to cut anti-social behaviour and make local communities safer.
