London Assembly
Merlene Emerson is the Liberal Democrats’ candidate for the London Assembly constituency of West Central, which covers Hammersmith and Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea and the City of Westminster. She is campaigning to cut crime, improve public transport and make housing affordable.
Merlene was born in Singapore and came to London in 1979 as a law student. She worked at a leading City law firm before retraining as a mediator and working as a community mediator in the boroughs of Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster. She has three sons and regularly fundraises for the charity Save the Children. Merlene is also a trustee of the legally-aided Chinese Welfare Trust.

European Parliament
Sarah Ludford is the Liberal Democrat Member of the European Parliament for the whole of London. She has been in the forefront of efforts to tackle organised crime and terrorism through European cross-border law enforcement.
Sarah has been the party’s lead member in the European Parliament on anti-racism, on rights for EU-resident legal immigrants, and on internment of prisoners in Guantanamo Bay. She is active in the Parliament’s ‘intergroups’ on anti-racism & diversity and gay & lesbian rights.
